Installed ubuntu on a portable Toshiba HD w/ ext4 and swap partitions (120 and 20 gigs, respectively) as per How to install Ubuntu on portable external Hard Drive?
.. got the infamous :) unknown filesystem grub rescue thing ..

Boot repair even didn't work ..the main hd is failing (reason for external) but, that gives me, when loading into that one, no such device (no hd?)

..even though BIOS recognizes the one where Win is installed.

In the config (Ubuntu's) file it does have the ext2 set to boot on ie. hd3, msdos2 ..which, funnily, upon trying the 'ls' command w/ that one, is not even showing up in the list ..

Old laptop (netbook) ..to the extent, that, lol :p can't even see the letters anymore on some keys eventually will have to replace, but, cheaper for now/this way ..
