Jonathan P. Folsom (October 9, 1820 – February 23, 1893) served as the twentieth Mayor of Lowell, Massachusetts.



Business career


Folsom was, for many years,[3] involved in the dry goods trade.[3] Folsom had a dry goods store[3] on Merrimack Street, in Lowell.[3]


Folsom was a director of the Old Lowell National Bank,[1] and a Trustee of the Central Savings Bank.[1]



Public service career


Folsom was a member of the Lowell Common Council,[2] Board of Aldermen,[2] and was twice elected the mayor of Lowell.[2]


After he was mayor Folsom served two terms in the Massachusetts legislature[1] as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.[1]
