sudo sed -i -re 's/([a-z]{2}.)?archive.ubuntu.com|security.ubuntu.com/old-releases.ubuntu.com/g' /etc/apt/sources.list

Ok, so I did this and was able to update from 15.04 to 15.10. All worked fine, and most important I can get Libre on my Laptop now. I can also see that it changed the Software and Update Software, Other Software, to Old Releases as the Source.

Just want to make sure I do it correctly. What is the sudo sed command to change it back to current releases so one can update to 16.04, or what is the GUI Software and Update Software way of doing this? One of my problems is there is no Pipe on my Laptop Keyboard, so I have to copy and paste the commands into the terminal.

  • Yes, that is correct! 15.10 works pretty well though Kulfy. This is good stuff! Much better that Caldera Linux I first used in 2001...LOL?!
