On my Acer I get a linux prompt, root@penguin$, through Chromebook Linux beta but am unable to load Ubuntu through /etc/apt/sources.list (permission denied) and unable to load a previously-made Ubuntu bionic beaver ISO USB.

Can I use chroot in some way? How do I locate the usb disk when fdisk doesn't work? It has been a long time since I worked with linux.
