So I've been recently switching from Windows to Linux (almost) and trying different distros on VM and an older laptop and have tried Linux Mint 19.1 and MX Linux and Debian itself. The first major problem is that using OpenVPN or L2TP or PPTP on Ubuntu and Linux Mint (latest versions by now), i can change my IP and my location and bypass Geo restrictions but i cannot bypass my country's censorship and it seems that Ubuntu has problems with DNS and OpenVPN cannot switch to the VPN Provider's DNS and as i try Ping Tests, Ping to my country's local websites has been significantly increased and would be as much as if i was where the VPN Server is located, However, Ping Test to restricted websites (in my country) will not route me to that website or service and returns the IP Address of the censorship alert page with the IP 10.10.34.35 and this never happens on Non-Ubuntu distros to me.I can do things in the Terminal but for this i have no idea and need to know what to possibly configure or change. I can provide further details if needed but I've been following the instructions from the VPN Provider for Network Manager they worked on other distros.
