VPN on Linux Mint doesn't bypass censorship. DNS related?
So I've been recently switching from Windows to Linux (almost) and trying different distros on VM and an older laptop and have tried Linux Mint 19.1 and MX Linux and Debian itself. The first major problem is that using OpenVPN or L2TP or PPTP, i can change my IP and my location and bypass Geo restrictions but i cannot bypass my country's censorship and it seems that Ubuntu has problems with DNS and OpenVPN cannot switch to the VPN Provider's DNS and as i try Ping Tests, Ping to my country's local websites has been significantly increased and would be as much as if i was where the VPN Server was located, However, Ping Test to restricted websites (in my country) will not route me to that website or service and returns the IP Address of the censorship alert page with the IP 10.10.34.35 and this never happens on other Debian or Arch Distros and Windows and iOS and Android. I only get this problem on Linux Mint and Ubuntu itself. I can do things in the Terminal but for this i have no idea. I really need to bypass internet censorship on Mint and Ubuntu.
Thanks
