I'm experiencing some odd problems:

Certain actions seem to trigger a gdebi-gtk error on my system:

Could not open [XYZ]. The package might be corrupted or you are not
allowed to open the file. Check the permissions of the file

image of gdebi-gtk error

This happens for example:

  1. Whenever I double-click on the system default 'Home'-icon or a mounted drive on my desktop.

  2. When I try to unlock an encrypted vault which I created with 'Cryptomator'.

I tried to remove gdebi using sudo apt remove gdebi. Then everything works fine. However as soon as I re-install it it will give me the same errors.
