Chilomeniscus is a genus of snakes of the family Colubridae.

Geographic range


The genus Chilomeniscus is endemic to the extreme southwestern United States and adjacent extreme northwestern Mexico including the Baja California Peninsula.[1]



Species


Two species are recognized as being valid.[1]




  • Chilomeniscus savagei Cliff, 1954


  • Chilomeniscus stramineus Cope, 1860



Etymology


The specific name, savagei, is in honor of American herpetologist Jay M. Savage.[2]
