I was changing my desktop wallpaper and I got spammed with pop ups so I closed my browser. I then started to to experience lag and glitching on restarting my browser to which I responded by closing it again. At which point the monitor froze before I received a black screen. I immediately switched my PC off at the power.

I have since restarted and I am logged into a separate account which I intended to use for running Clamtk on my potentially infected home directory. However this account does not have clamtk installed nor does it have the correct drivers for my wireless adapter so I'm a little stuck.

What could this malware be and what are it's worst case capabilities? Where might I go about searching for the infected files? The Browser is firefox

Thanks
