The Circular or Yellow line (code Y) (Chinese: 環狀線) of Taipei Metro is an elevated, medium-capacity rapid transit currently under construction in Taipei and New Taipei City, Taiwan. Stage I construction consists of the section from New Taipei Industrial Park on the Taoyuan Airport MRT to Dapinglin on the Songshan–Xindian line and will be about 15.4 km (9.6 mi) long with 14 stations.[1] This initial section was scheduled to open on 16 June 2018, but has been delayed until June 2019.[2] As of November 2018, the project was 95.75% finished.[3]
The north and south sections of the Circular line are considered separate projects and will be proposed to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.[1]

Construction
Ansaldo STS will supply electromechanical equipment for the line, including driverless technology and CBTC Radio signalling.[4]Dapinglin, the only underground station on the line, is being constructed by RSEA Engineering Corporation and will employ the cut-and-cover method.[5]
Construction for Stage 1 officially broke ground on 11 July 2011 on a 6.3 km (3.9 mi) elevated section between Zhonghe and Banqiao.[6] The section is estimated to cost NT$13.7 billion, with the entire first-stage 15.4 km (9.6 mi) route estimated to cost NT$54.7 billion to construct.
The line will include the first elevated split platform in the system at Zhonghe, Qiaohe, and Zhongyuan due to the narrowness of the available station area.[7][8]
