I am trying to install Ubuntu on a new hard drive. I burned the iso file for 18.04.2 onto a DVD and put it in the DVD drive. When I start up that computer, it says:
"No Boot Device Available
SATA0: Installed
SATA1: Installed
SATA2: None
SATA3: None
SATA4: None
SATA5: None".
I have the old installation disc that I used before the hard drive went bad (16.04), and it does the same thing when I put it in. Since I have used the old disc before, I know that it was burned correctly and I have read all of the instructions for creating and installing with a disc, so I am pretty sure that there is nothing wrong with the disc that I am using. Is there anything that I need to do to prepare the hard drive for use? Previously, it was installed as a dual boot, but I don't want to do that this time. I just want it to be Ubuntu only. Alternatively, is there some other piece of hardware that could be stopping things up?
