I started using Ubuntu on windows 10 and I've noticed that the default path /home/<user_created_during_installation>
is located in
C:UsersUserAppDataLocalPackagesCanonicalGroupLimited.Ubuntu18.04onWindows_79rhkp1fndgscLocalStaterootfshome<user>
My question is, can I change that path (and if so, how?) or do I have to work on that path while I use Ubuntu on Windows?
Thanks in advance

The default /home
is located in C:UsersUserAppDataLocalPackagesCanonicalGroupLimited.Ubuntu18.04onWindows_79rhkp1fndgscLocalStaterootfshome
and all the other drives, for eg. C, D, etc can be accessed from /mnt
.
To navigate to desired drive/folder use:
cd /mnt/<drive>/<path>
The upcoming Windows 10 April 2019 Update will give Windows Subsystem for Linux the ability to let you access Linux files more safely and easily from Windows.

@karel Have you signed up for Insider program (since I haven't)? Can you please elaborate "safely and easily"? It might be useful for future readers if you can just post it as answer on the target question (or a separate Q&A or wait till the final public release of that update).

@karel IMO the word "safely' is still unclear to me. I think I should rather wait for general public release. By the way +1 :)
