I am new to Ubuntu and Linux in general. I am able to launch nautilus from Xterm, but not from the desktop icon. I also cannot launch the native terminal app on my desktop and therefore am forced to use Xterm.

Any advice would be very appreciated. Please be as detailed as possible, as I am VERY new to Linux/Ubuntu.

Much Thanks,

Eric
