I'm working on creating a server environment which will contain multiple developers, I want to set up a virtual environment for them that will exist when the account gets created. I ran the following inside of /etc/skel/:
virtualenv -p python3 env
Then created the new user and the files got copied over. I'm able to enter into the virtual environment but when I'm in I get a permission denied error and it's showing the path from /etc/skel/env/ and not ~/env/
The error reads:
Could not install packages due to an EnvironmentError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/etc/skel/env/lib/python3.6/site-packages/pytz'
Consider using the--useroption or check the permissions.
I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find out why the path is showing /etc/skel if I'm running the copied machine from ~/env/
I've checked all online info I could find on virtualenv as well as the /etc/skel/ directory
I'm sure I've just done something stupid and I thank you for any help.
