I have a qcow2 backing file for overlay.

How can I protect this file against QEMU write by mistake?

Can I lock it or set it to read-only.

It seems to work if I set the filesystem permission to read-only, but I would expect there was a built-in lock-feature in the qcow2 format that could be set with qemu-img, but that doesn't seem to be the case?

I just screw-up a backing file somehow (don't really know how it happened).
