Usha Varanasi is an American oceanic scientist currently Affiliate Professor at University of Washington, following her retirement in 2010, and an Elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.[1]



Research


Her interests are environmental toxicology and chemistry. Her research on process contaminants and marine organisms accumulation were responsible for the scientific advancement on oil's pollution on fishery resources.[2] Her highest paper is Metabolism of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the aquatic environment[3] at 285 times, according to Google Scholar.[4]
